Minister Han emphasizes trade ties with U.S. but cautious on FTA
WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 (Yonhap) — South Korea’s chief economic policymaker, while emphasizing the importance of fostering trade relations with the United States, stopped short Friday of a promise to push forward with a free trade agreement (FTA).

“Some of the trade issues between South Korea and the United States have been existing for some time, and it’s quite natural, bilaterally and multilaterally, to exercise our best efforts to minimize the trading conflict and risk,” Finance Minister Han Duck-soo, also deputy prime minister, said here.
